Mommy Connections can help!
‘Bring your baby to 6 weekly 90 minute sessions with expert speakers on topics such as Post-Natal Fitness, City Programs for families, baby dental concern, baby wearing, baby communication, mommy & baby nutrition, infant first aid, baby massage, hip class demonstrations for mommy & baby, returning to work and more! Siblings welcome!

At the end of the 6 weeks, you will be connected with a small group of moms that live in your neighbourhood!’

The Fall session goes from September 13 - October 25.

I will be at the West end location Sept. 27 to share some tips on taking photographs of your baby as well as taking ‘Mommy and Me’ portraits (free BW 5×7 for every participant.)

Student of the Art

We all know that we can not and DO NOT know everything about a subject. Although I am a teacher and educate others on the art of photography, I also am a student. I place a high value on education. Tonight I attended a seminar by the amazing American photographer Sandy Puc. (I had also caught her last year - different topic.)

I got some great ideas but most importantly my commitment to goodwill was reinforced. Just like Sandy, I lead a blessed life and feel the need to share my talents to give back to the community.

Sounds sappy?

Sure, but I am happy and I make others happy - it is not always about money. Sandy had this awesome quote about the end of your life … but, I forgot the exact wording - something about using your talents for others … bla bla bla

I also had a wonderful time visiting with some amazing colleagues (AKA ‘peeps’.) This is such a great industry to belong to. There is so much support among us.

A Quick Teaser - Edmonton Newborn Photographer

Often I give a few images to clients before the entire session is completely edited. This happens quite often for newborns so announcement cards and thank you cards can be created. They also might want to share these pictures with friends and family members. Seriously, 3-5 weeks is a long time to wait (busy times like Summer can be even longer!) - especially since newborns change so much in 5 weeks!

This morning I was gathering a few up to give to a family and completely fell head-over-heels in love with this image - the precious newborn is curled up like she was a few days ago, and I really like the lines in the background - it almost resembles a nest. Check out all the glorious hair!

I am so far behind in posting on this blog, that it might be March of next year before you get to see some more.
… although … my youngest is now going to be in school and I will have oodles of free time (so I keep telling myself anyways) to edit quicker and blog away.

Giving Back

I brought my daughters to the Stollery office to give the money collected from photography Gift Certificates, selling tie-dyes on our front lawn ( a long story - but I adore our neighbours), and gift donations (in lieu of presents.) We recently collected $180.00 to support the valueable Children’s Hospital.

This wonderful lady (who will remain anonymous) recently started a new stage in her life. She wanted her daughters (and herself) to have some photographs of her that showed she was (IS) beautiful. She is to be celebrated, loved and cherished.

Big ‘A’ and Little ‘A’ - Edmonton Child Photographer

This beautiful little girl’s extended family bought a Gift Certificate for some photographs to document this special family - funny thing was, they had already booked with me!

Big sister ‘A’ is so obviously in love with little sister ‘A’. Their close bond shows in the images.

*I often get the question about the adults and family photographs. YES absolutely there are many images taken all together and I would really love to share them with you on my blog. But, perhaps because I was a teacher, I prefer to keep the children unidentified. That is the same reason I only write their first initials.
And, just so you know, there were some pretty amazingly fun and beautiful family pictures from this session. And, yes, I really want to show them to you, but I hope you understand that I won’t.

Mom, neighbour, and fellow ‘Mompreneur’ brought her newest addition for photographs. ‘B’ is absolutely wonderful as is his mother - who is selflessly going to be participating in the Weekend To Cure Women’s Cancer. Thank you for that.

(BTW - this little guy has the CUTEST little bum - I sooooooo WANT to post pictures, but I won’t.)
